█ 'Age'. The album for Daniel is about being black, █
█ gay, & American in the new millennium, living in NY █
█ pre & post 9-11 and about coming to terms with a █
█ childhood friend killed by Jeffery Dahmer. It's also █
█ about finding a new home in the concrete jungle, █
█ combing digital textures, samples, moog, drum █
█ machines, cello, sax, & various voices as a dark, █
█ seductive, and personal statement. █

█ As with 'Age' Givens elected to use various guest █
█ musicians & vocalists including: vocalist Ihu Anyanwu █
█ (Nigerian born, owner of Repellant magazine, & █
█ recording artist G-Rizo), vocalist Lehni Lamide (also █
█ from Nigeria, Asiko & Mike Ladd's Magesticons (Big █
█ Dada)), cellist Semay Wu (Homelife - Ninja Tune) as █
█ well as saxophonist + AACM member Matana Roberts █
█ (Sticks & Stones - Thrill Jockey, Greg Tate's Burnt █
█ Sugar). She is featured on the last Godspeed You █
█ Black Emperor! album. █

█ As with past recordings, Givens received some help in █
█ the recording & mixing process. This time around, he █
█ chose to work close to home in the Bronx, NY with █
