▓████▓▌ Chamber Choir, with the Finnish Radio Symphony ▓▌
▓████▓▌ Orchestra, performs musical settings of 26 poems ▓▌
▓████▓▌ from the middle and late 20th century. ▓▌
▓████▓▌ ▓▌
▓████▓▌ The work that gives the album its title, True & ▓▌
▓████▓▌ False Unicorn, is a cycle of 20 works by California ▓▌
▓████▓▌ poet James Broughton. The meditation on the ▓▌
▓████▓▌ mythical beast contains some surprises. One ▓▌
▓████▓▌ character, who takes a psychoanalytical look at the ▓▌
▓████▓▌ unicorn and its significance, is "Siegmund of ▓▌
▓████▓▌ Vienna." Another, who lectures the unicorn on ▓▌
▓████▓▌ behavior, is Queen Victoria. ▓▌
▓████▓▌ ▓▌
▓████▓▌ The music reflects the irony of the poems. A kind ▓▌
▓████▓▌ of modern-day impressionism produces some beautiful ▓▌
▓████▓▌ passages, but these are leavened with some ▓▌
▓████▓▌ tongue-in-cheek parodies: old-fashioned ▓▌
▓████▓▌ Sprechstimme, a four-square arrangement of "God ▓▌
