Transcargo's first album, Idle Luxury is out on July 27th on
Trunk records. It will be available in all major record
shops.
Transcargo are back and here to wash away the winter blues.
We got a breath of fresh air with their debut EP Oh Boy last
summer and now Idle Luxury is the spring clean your record
collection has been crying out for - a true slice of breezy
sunshine pop.
TRANSCARGO stretches to an 8 piece live ensemble, but this
"truly brilliant new act" (Time Out) was started by Emily
Phillips, Anthony Whiting and Guillaume Jambel. Emily's is a
life bound in musical history, which started with the
classical study of piano and Cello, followed by a degree in
fine art.
After a few packed London Gigs surrounding their first
release, the band went on to support the Herbaliser at
Cargo, and The Infamous Son of Dave at the 100 Club, while
enjoying air time on Radio 1, XFM, BBC London, USA West
Coast Radio and Europe.
In the meantime, they have recorded their debut album, Idle
Luxury, where they preside at the old Hit Factory, yes you
heard us right; the infamous studio formerly occupied by
Stock Aitken and Waterman who eventually deserted when the
rumbling of the London Underground beneath the premises got
too much. As Emily explains, 'We like the rough edges this
gives a recording, but Pete and Kylie obviously couldn't
take it.'
Idle Luxury is released on July 27th, with the first single
if only following shortly after.

wonderful things) to support Emily Phillips' velveteen purr.
'Copenhagen' will make you mental. 'The fly' will make you
sane. Not one laboured, pseudo-'60s retread - Brilliant!"
