███ "Israel Martφnez started to work with sound since 2003, from ███
███ electroacoustic - acousmatic composition and experimental ███
███ electronic music until sonic actions, interventions and ███
███ audiovisual projects. He has participated in most of the ███
███ important festivals of electroacoustic music, sound and digital ███
███ arts in Mexico as Radar, Transitio MX, Visiones Sonoras, Mutek ███
███ MX, Muestra Internacional de Arte Sonoro, Estacionarte, ███
███ Instrumenta, SONOM, Festival Cultural de Mayo and Interface. He ███
███ has performed or his works has been played in cities of USA, ███
███ England, Austria, France, Spain, Mexico and Colombia. In 2007 he ███
███ won the Prix Ars Electronica's Award of Distinction in Digital ███
███ Musics Category, for his work "Mi Vida". ███

███ "Exorcizios" is a compilation of works composed between 2006 and ███
███ 2007. The first track is "Weekend", commissioned by Mexican ███
███ electroacoustic music festival Visiones Sonoras 2007. The work ███
███ was constructed with sounds of fire and children at pools ███
███ captured on a weekend in Tlajomulco de Z·±iga (small town near ███
███ to Guadalajara - Israel's local city -). The contrast of two ███
███ situations that happen simultaneously just a few miles is what ███
███ we can find on a weekend. ███
███ ███
███ "Mi vida" (Award of distinction, Digital Musics, Prix Ars ███
███ Electronica 2007) was composed with car sounds. "A key turns in ███
███ the ignition, and a car engine reluctantly chokes into life. A ███
███ brief pause, and then a deafening smash. Those are opening ███
███ seconds of Mi vida, a seven-minute composition by Mexican ███
███ composer Israel Martφnez. The wit and the concision of this work ███
███ consistently impressed the judges, with its narrative of a car ███
███ ride that ends in a crash. Martφnez processes these sound ███
███ effects and rearranges the story into non-linear form but its ███
███ seamless transitions elevate it above much generic "cut-up" ███
███ work" (Ars Electronica 2007 Catalog). ███

███ "Epidermis" is the outermost layer of the skin, which is ███
███ penetrated by a needle to deposit the ink and create a tattoo. ███
███ This work is a real-time sonic action capturing the sound ███
███ provided by a tattoo machine tattooing a person, processing it ███
███ and improvising with it at the same time. The main idea is to ███
███ create a parallel between the physical experience of the person ███
███ being tattooed and the audience listening the "harsh" sound and ███
███ watching a video projection of the tattoo action on close-up. ███
███ Toward the end of the tattoo making, the tattooist plays a song ███
███ (in this case a track of John Zorn's Naked City) as the way he ███
███ usually plays songs (and change them) in his studio when he's ███
███ working, from that point the sonic improvisation includes sounds ███
███ from the track played processing them and mixing them with ███
███ tattoo machine sounds. The improvisation ends when tattoo is ███
███ finished. This sonic action was performed during Muestra ███
███ Internacional de Arte Sonoro 2007 in Mexico City. ███

███ "26 clasicos en 1" is another sonic action performed in Muestra ███
███ Internacional de Arte Sonoro 2007. This work was constructed ███
███ with processed sounds extracted from a rare compilation of ███
███ Mexican golden age popular music found at Mexico City's subway. ███
███ Israel plays as a DJ who triggers the tracks without alterations ███
███ until he plays the 26 tracks simultaneously and start to process ███
███ and improvise with the sound. This version is an excerpt. ███

███ "Primera parte..." is an excerpt of a project created for ███
███ Transitio MX Festival. People listened the composition inside a ███
███ car driving around Mexico City's downtown with a route mapped by ███
███ Israel. This first part was composed focusing in the mechanical ███
███ and physical connection between the machine and the people ███
███ inside the car as well as the psychological fear of an ███
