Somewhere beneath the surface there
is a gem that is too often overlooked,
and ready to be discovered.
Introducing a young solo artist with a
tremendous vocal quality that is never
dated. A dynamic, energetic
performer whose songs demand to be
embraced. His nameà J.W..
J.W., a 21 year-old native of Baton
Rouge, Louisiana, started singing at an
early age. There was always music in
the home. His mother and other family
members sung in the church choir.
Influenced by his surroundings, Jon
developed a love for music, and without
any formal training, a natural ability to
sing. His musical commitment and
passion for music was fueled by the old
school as well as the R&B/Hip-Hop/Pop
sounds of today.
J participated in two citywide talent
shows in his hometown, and was well
received. He attended open mic jam
sessions every Sunday for a month at
the Village Underground in Manhattan.
He is highly requested to perform for
dance clubs, weddings as well as public
and social events.
A year and a half ago J came to Los
Angeles to perform background vocals
for a rapper friend. Out of a love for
music he accepted several invitations to
perform live on the L.A. club circuit.
After hearing some tracks during a
recording session, J started singing a
melody to a beat. Producers happened
to hear his vocals, as a result, J
recorded the track and the rest is history.
J.W. has a natural vocal talent, proving
to be a musically solid and commercially
viable entity with plenty of substance.
When Wes takes to the stage he draws
undivided attention with his stage
presence and raw energy.
His circle of musical influences grew to
include Stevie Wonder, Sam Cooke,
Donny Hathaway, Michael Jackson,
Usher & R. Kelly.
J's songwriting prowess shines,
particularly with love ballads. His smooth
sultry voice melts into emotion of his
lyrics. Having written all of the songs he
records, J.W. displays influences from his
native home, Louisiana, but also adds his
own unique flavor to the music. He is one
day bound to be a chart topper and a
household name.
