█ In 1992, after playing by herself for many years, TJO █
█ was plucked from her room to begin playing with other █
█ people. It began in Louisville, where a band called █
█ Rodan appeared in the southern skies. TJO was the █
█ bass player and shared singing responsibilities. █
█ During the same time, she stretched her legs further █
█ to play bass and guitar in the all female band █
█ Drinking Woman. Then she turned 21. █
█ In 1994 TJO and her rocket house friends and █
█ bandmates were distorted and immortalized in the film █
█ half cocked. the film, directed by new yorkers mike █
█ galinsky and suki hawley introduced TJO and cynthia █
█ nelson. on the set of the █
█ film, retsin was born.after one full length and lots █
█ of touring, rodan (as well as this █
█ louisville era) ended in mid 1994.over the next █
█ several years TJo moved between louisville and nyc... █

█ nyc 1994 █
█ TJO and sean meadows form the sonora pine. it later █
█ expands to include samara lubelski and rodan drummer █
█ kevin coultas. retsin records and releases its first █
█ album, salt lick. TJO is also found in the studio █
█ with danielle howle, appearing on a couple of songs █
█ from her album, about to burst. TJO is invited to █
█ scribble in the pages of cynthia nelson's first █
█ poetry book, raven days. █

█ louisville 1995-96 █
█ retsin makes their second record, egg fusion, and █
█ tours with louisvillians todd cook and greta █
█ ritcher.the sonora pine records two records, shifts █
█ personnel, tours the eastern US a █
█ couple of times, and then breaks up. the second █
█ record sews the seeds of solo work to come. TJO and █
█ kevin coultas appear on the third record by come, █
█ near life █
█ experience, and tour the US and europe with them. TJO █
█ continues painting and begins work on the pages of █
█ nelson's second book, the kentucky rules. █

█ nyc 1997-2000 █
█ retsin records third record, the sweet luck of █
█ amaryllis, and tours. TJO settles into the lower east █
█ side of nyc where she is found playing with many █
█ humans. the ida / retsin family is born. she is seen █
█ onstage with ida and appears somewhere on the record, █
█ will you find me.TJO began working on her first solo █
█ record, and her engineering skills. her much loved █
█ debut solo album peregrine was recorded in a bathtub. █
█ many of her friends came to play on the records, █
█ often subjected to the sonic blindfold (see █
█ glossary).the TJO live experience ranged from full █
█ band to TJO solo with gadgets or acoustic with string █
█ accompaniment. TJO was able to record records by her █
█ friends in her bathtub. she engineered the first █
█ release by K. and played on a few tracks. she █
█ recorded the first album by the naysayer and █
█ eventually became a switch hitter member of the band. █
█ retsin moved to a cabin in the upstate new york woods █
█ and recorded the record, cabin in the woods. up and █
█ out. TJO has her first solo art exhibition, in █
█ louisville. █

█ louisville 2001-2002 █
█ TJO started working in a ballroom in an empty █
█ building in downtown louisville. █
█ TJO recorded her second record, in the sun lines, █
█ here and the TJO band toured the US and europe. TJO █
█ recorded the improvised instrumental record, music █
█ for a meteor shower, with dan littleton.the naysayer █
█ recorded their second album and TJO was given a █
█ picture credit.she was a guest banjo and guitar █
█ player on the papa m record, whatever, mortal, and █
█ toured with pajo for a week. retsin recorded the ep █
█ moon, money, moon toured the US and spain and broke █
█ up (cynthia nelson now plays as the sophie drinker). █
█ TJO recorded the album TJOTKO during the winter, █
█ playing all instruments █
█ (except for one flute track). this record marks the █
█ first steps by TJO into sound █
█ making with electronic gadgetry. then she gets a █
█ computer. she begins collaborating with kristina █
█ davies making electronic music. TJO expands again to █
█ tour japan. █

█ olympia 2003 █
█ TJO joins forces with the king cobra and moves to the █
█ pacific northwest. TJO helps to record and mix the █
█ first antietam record in 5 years, victory park. she █
█ returns to japan where a small press in tokyo █
█ releases a book of images, words and music. █

█ TJO is currently recording music for an ep and for █
█ her next full length record. the future is full and █
█ waiting... █
