Lifted from their excellent 'Solar Life Raft' mix, 'The Shallows EP' contains
three tracks from Matt Shadetek and DJ/Rupture on a pan-global dub-rooted riddim
tip. Matt Shadetek's digi-dub stepper 'Strength In Numbers' works with deep
rolling subs and plastic digidub horns, while the off-key and squelchy grimy
fonk of the 'Shallows' has to be our highlight, before the Ballardian imagery of
the title 'Under Water High Rise' is matched by aquatic 4/4 steppers rhythms
drenched in reverb and dread Afro melodics. If you checked the mix, you'll be
well into these tunes.
