This is Copenhagen Dancefloor Classics vol. 2 with jazzy, Brazilian,
Latin and funky stuff from the top of Europe. Brought directly to
your living room by DJ Wunderbaum and Master Fatman.
We don't know why. But jazz has always been around in Denmark. Some
blame it on the Second World War, some on the growing university
students of the late 40's and early 50's and others on the famous
Jazzhouse Montmartre in Store Regnegade. Maybe it was all the black
hip cats from the States that stayed far more than overnight because
of some young, free-minded blond girl and played their music with all
the Danish brothers? As music lovers and vinyl diggers we can guess,
stay up late, read rare books and talk the shit out of each other.
Maybe it's better to shut up, put the needle on the record and start
dancin, listening, groovin', travellin', getting high, low, moody,
joyful, loving, thinkin', wanting.
Freeform is a DJ collective of Master Fatman, Wunderbaum and a third
DJ "Mikkel Flyverbom".... Murena decided to put together this series
because it has never been done before in Denmark and Fatman and
Wunderbaum have been collecting Danish stuff for years.
In conjunction with the Danish Jazz label "Music Mecca" and Master
Fatmans relationships with many of the artists involved, Murena have
managed to license many tracks that are rare and hard to find
classics.
Volume one was released in 2000 as a limited edition vinyl
compilation and was very well received (especially in Japan --- No
surprise...) another motivation for this release was the questions of
many of the visiting DJ's asking what to look for from the canon of
Danish Jazz, Funk and Latin...

This cd is on the same recordlable that released Slow Train - illegal
Cargo not long ago, and also Puddo Varano, that has now split. This
cd was also cd of the week on the danish radio show called det store
mix. They relased det store mix vol 2 not long ago either.
