More Ron Hardy business here folks. Reportedly ripped directly
from Ron's live reel-to-reel tape edits that he used to blow apart
the Music Box with back in Chicago. "Hiccup Track" is just the
rawest Chicago jack track. A simple (yet vicious) 909 groove is
backed by a short vocal stab, manipulated to sound like a chipmunk
hiccuping! And that's basically about it. Play this loud however,
or as a DJ tool and you'll see the unique and interesting
dimension it can add to the dancefloor. Take the kids back to
right back to 86 and get them bootys bouncing! (also Bmore and
figet fans take note! These are the very first prototypes for
future booty-bass rhythms). "Sensation" continues along the same,
stripped back jack trax vibe. Crisp, sizzling hi-hats and heavy
toms are order of the day before a de-tuned synth rhythm comes in
to shake the floor. Coarse snares and rabid hand claps later fill
out the track into a real animal. Again, with plenty of room in
the mix to add an acapella this makes an excellent DJ tool but is
dynamic enough to drop as a stand alone track. Ron Hardy was
re-editing tracks while Horse Meat Disco were still in nappies so
grab yourself a piece of disco-house edit heritage now!
