Ultra-heavy dubstep standards from Kryptic Minds for Loefah's
Swamp 81 organisation. The former D'n'B stalwarts continue to push
their newly chosen format forward with exceptional production
values displayed on both tracks. 'Badman' is all about the
skulking dread vibes, concentrating on the sumptuously dark and
menacing potential of a perfectly sculpted sub-bass tone with
hard-stepping but essentially efficient percussion giving a
well-toned muscular torque. On the flip 'Distant' is the sort of
slickly syncopated beast that you'd imagine Burial would make if
he had their combined years of dynamic production expertise,
glancing shards of hi-hats and well shuffled snare placements
around the lurching bass hits with an effortless but highly
considered flex. For darkly elegant dubstep it doesn't get much
better than this.
