INFO:
A real entomological overload! In fact judging fromnotes
the first track "Insecticide" one wonders if the CD
could make a wildlife soundtrack. Overall the tracks
are groovy, unpredictable, sometimes melodically
minimal - all the things we have come to expect
from Australian trance. But being Insectoid they
have a special depth of psychic challenge and an
insistent groove - and sounds ('the vortex sounds of
DMT hyperspace' didnt someone say) that make
you think harder. There is quite a variety too,
perhaps reflecting the album's long gestion.
"Astrotrekker" makes it seem like the refrains of
Aussie rock have made it to Byron Bay, while "Angel
Herded Hipsters" raises the flag for inverted
space+drum. And with 'the Jet Set Hippie mix' this
CD also wins the prize for self-deprecation.
