The Bug runs a major riddim featuring vocals from Roll Deep's Flow
Dan and King Midas Sound associate Hitomi housed in
hangsterspot-gloss sleeve. The A-side is a stone-cold classic Bug
production, embedding Flow Dan's surly monotone in an oppressively
dread-laden setting, easing up on the explicit noise features in
favour of unforgiving jackhammer sub-pressure to carrying the only
semblance of melody and clangorous snares guaranteed to shock the
dance to its core. Hitomi provides a slightly lighter counterpoint
on the flipside, versioning the 'Out Of Control' dub with a
trembling and ethereal vocal transmission from just
out-of-earshot. The effect is vividly cinematic and a stern
reminder of just how vital Kevin Martin's The Bug project is
within the lineage of UK Dub punk traditions. Large.
