| When Mr Tafenau, an accomplished Estonian Sax |
| player, with enormously respected reputation all |
| over the Baltic countries heard there was a |
| Brazilian singer, with a beautiful and unique |
| voice,living in Helsinki, he saw a perfect chance |
| to work with one of his favorite music styles,the |
| Bossa-Nova. What he couldn't predict was that, |
| from the moment they have met,something musically |
| special happened,between Mr Tafenau and that |
| Brazilian guy and moved them far beyond the |
| Bossa-Nova start. Sergio Bastos,the Brazilian |
| guy,had moved from his original town,some place |
| called Rio de Janeiro,trying to spread his |
| musical opportunities and found with |
| Tafenau,something he couldn't believe would be as |
| big as it has been. From the early |
| beguining,entertaining a summer camp in the |
| countryside of a recently new born |
| Estonia,feeling the intensity and deepness of the |
| word freedom, on that same year,the new band |
| they've started, filled up the Opera House of |
| Tallinn, with extra seats,for a standing ovation |
| at the end of the concert. That was in 2002 and |
| the reactions about the band were so strong and |
| positive that it took the band for their first CD |
| in 2003,"Ice on Ipanema". The CD became a |
| phenomenal success and could be found almost |
| everywhere in Estonia. What came after was a |
| natural evolution of the band,touring in places |
| like Finland,Spain,Latvia,Belgium,Canada, more |
| recently in Russia and, of course,in all the |
| corners of Estonia. In 2008 came the new and |
| latest album of SB & RT Band,named "Contrasting |
| Colors" with a national tour in Estonia during |
| the summer with a local pop Diva, Laura P⌡lvere |
| and sold out performances,braking the public |
| record in many of the venues of the tour. In |
| October, the band received an incredible and warm |
| welcome from the Russian public, again with |
| standing ovation in many of the theaters they've |
| performed for the Province Jazz Festival. Get |
