the drummer as loop generator. sequencing twisting, distorting and
dubbing the beats in a more modern and electronic mode. the set
builds to the expansive dubout of the penultimate track `these are
our faithful timekeepers', giving way to the surprise dynamics and
interplay between kit, electronics and double bass.
Beatbox locates Arguelles at the heart of a percussive feedback
system that runs the spectrum from meaty throbs to skeletal
crackles and chemical snares. Live shows feature an extravagantly
setting of drums and electronics against a projected backdrop of
super8 films compiled and edited by fellow drummer and coolector of
celluloid wonders Franck Vaillant or VJ Miyako.
