.......................................................................

The history of the Tresor-Label begins in the year 1988, when the
Interfisch-labelteam opened the 'UFO'-club in Berlin. Today this
name represents the roots of the Berlin house- and technoscene.
This little fine underground-club was closed in the begining of
1991. After the reunion of both german nations, the crew found a
new location in heart of the city, near the 'Potzdammer Platz', the
'TRESOR', a former saferoom (tresor) in the basement of the biggest
european department store in the beginning of this century. Here
DJ's and musician from Berlin (Dr.Motte, Tanith,...) and wellknown
record-artists from the US (Derrick May, Jeff Mills, Moby, Marshall
Jefferson, Blake Baxter, Eddie Flashing Fowlkes, Juan Atkins,...)
met eachother and from these contacts it was a little step from
'clubland' to 'clublabel'. As a sublabel of Interfisch Records
(Clock DVA, Final Cut) TRESOR-Records was build up in the
latesummer of 1991 with 'Sonic Destroyer' of the trio Underground
Resistance from the city of Detroit as first release.
The connection between Berlin and Detroit was also in advantage of
some Acts from Berlin like Phase 3, whose 'Klang der Familie'
featuring Dr. Motte was licenced by Juan Atkins Label Transmat and
  later from NovaMute in London.
