R+D has a wide variety of applications. I believe it to be an invaluable
tool when EQ correction is applied to a sound system. The application
descriptions and such are in the context of home theater & hifi, but
professionals will recognize a variety of applications for this not
described here.
The description of this application application is in the context of
digital compensation of room acoustics to the limited extent to which I
believe is possible. EQing is not an ideal solution, it can be an
important and cost effective improvement to systems and rooms that have
already been optimized with regard to playback acoustics when it is done
correctly.
