Release Notes:
EveryoneÆs favourite Gold Coast collective, Operator Please, return
with their remarkably sophisticated sophomore album æGlovesÆ on Friday
May 31.
The band spent 12 months pouring their heart and soul into a record
that was largely self produced at a Byron Bay farm and in Amandah
WilkinsonÆs Gold Coast lounge room.
Lead singer Amandah says, ôThe album is the perfect representation for
where we are at right now. It has all the experiences and growth from
touring, seeing places and discovering the new; encompassed into about
35 minutes of songs.ö
The band chose to upload the debut single æLogicÆ to Myspace two weeks
ahead of service: the reaction was incredible, with national radio
stations adding the track immediately. Proving to be an instant hit,
æLogicÆ is released digitally on February 16.
Operator Please are offering fans a free MP3 download of æLogicÆ from
their official website www.operatorpleaseband.com until February 15.
From here, fans will also have the option of pre-ordering an exclusive
version of æGlovesÆ that includes a cassette mix tape of Operator
Please demos, remixes and acoustic tracks.
Bursting onto the music scene in early 2007 with their addictive æSong
About Ping PongÆ, Operator Please went on to release their debut album
æYes, Yes VindictiveÆ both here in Australia and in the UK. With five
official singles released from æYes, Yes VindictiveÆ the band toured
the world playing sell out festivals throughout Australia and Europe
and found themselves working with the likes of Bloc Party and Arctic
Monkeys. Fast forward to early 2009, the band began writing new
material for æGlovesÆ and kick things off with æLogicÆ.
For a taste of what to expect from Operator Please in 2010 and beyond,
catch them live on the national Future Music Festival.
