Release Notes:
Spring 2010 marks the debut release by London duo GOLD BLOOD, "The
Twilight Language E.P.", on Human Shield. With no official publicity to
date, GOLD BLOOD have already gained praise in high places due to their
frenetic, hardcore-influenced electronic art pop, both on record and at
their gigs.
GOLD BLOOD is a collaboration between University Lecturer Emile Bojesen
and keyboard enthusiast Michael Anthony Wright. Emile is better known
for previously fronting the hardcore band CHARIOTS, his current
noise-rock band THE GOOD WIFE and his writing and performance in the
multilateral art project with JMF Casey "The Church". Michael has been
making electronic music under the guise of BRASSICA as well other
collaborations such as QUEEN OF SWORDS, ACHRID, MINUS TWO QUARTET, THE
LAPTOP ORCHESTRA (with David Toop) and DALLAS BRETT (with Jorja
Chalmers of THE TING TINGS).
GOLD BLOOD's music is built upon a shared enthusiasm for pop,
post-punk, improvisation and rock n roll. Emile's vocals and lyrics
work with narratives, concrete poetics and self-referentiality. Michael
works with keyboards and drum machines, especially old ones. Somehow it
works.
