Milanese four-piece The Love Supreme make their mark on the modern Kraut-driven
disco scene with a debut album for Tirk. 'New Millenium Freaks' pays on the
promise of their three 12"s for the label with 12 well-studied and pop-friendly
disco jams with a slicked-out European gloss. The album pushes all the right
reference button, smearing poppier shades of The Human League, Soulwax and MGMT
with a more hypnotic krautrock theme for all the new-retro-nu-discozoids to get
down to. The album version of 'Rocquet' is a good hoot, tripping on some
psyched-off Moroder vibes while 'Tiefferre' should appeal to the Mark E types
and the fairly faithful version of cult classic 'Bela Lugosi's Dead' is well
accomplished. One for fans of The Time And Space Machine or even M83.
