Akai only gives a few clues on their website about what they sound like û Pop
and Indie. Not much to go on, but maybe not knowing what to expect was a
better way to go into it.
With all the auto-tune crap pop music out there, Akai is a refreshing change.
Layered compositions with lush vocals and multi instrumental tracking makes
this band sound musical in a time where much of itÆs all computer blippity
blop. Not that they donÆt utilize technologyÆs swing, they just donÆt rely on
it and instead use it to compliment real instruments.
ItÆs not all perfect in Akai land however. Their is an air of youthfulness
and inexperience that shines through a bit in the vocals and sometimes the
music isnÆt as tight as it should be. I think if you give this band a little
more time to hone their craft and get it all together, they are going to be
amazing.
