Hamburg sophisticates - Dial Records - round up their suited and booted posse
for a yearly snapshot. The family is extended to include fellow house
contemporaries IsolΘe and Kassian Troyer alongside central members Lawrence,
Pantha Du Prince, Pigon, Carsten Jost and Efdemin among others. Phantom Ghost
open with the twilight keys of 'My Secret Europe', a wonderfully theatrical
paean to the pleasures of the high life, before the 4/4s start. John Roberts
applies neo-classicist refinements on 'Lines', while Efdemin shapes a sumputous
piece of deep house tribalism and Kassian Troyer grooves with viscous layers of
chewy subbass. A rare appearance from IsolΘe is an obvious highlight, offering
the tinted house trip of 'Black Lodge', Pigon's 'Koto' aches for the deep of the
night and Pantha Du Prince stays connected to the Dial dynasty with the subtly
unfolding tale of 'Fountain Drive'.
