Simple but very abstract Sounds with a REALLY STRONG Robert Owens!
...The stuff Robert Owens did with Larry Heard as Fingers Inc., all
those dozens of tracks they did together are unreal. Those are the
tracks I was brought up on. My favorite was a tune called "I'm
Strong". After Fingers Inc. had recorded on DJ International and
Trax, and was ripped off and not paid and treated like a bunch of
assholes, they left and started the label and launched with "I'm
Strong". It was a middle finger up to the other labels saying, "I'm
strong, no more one day up and down, down, down/I can see through
your smiles, and I just frowned and turned around/I won't take no
situation lying around". What lyrics. Un fucking believable. Unreal.
