Freakin' heavyweight dubstep mix session from Jakes and the rest of the
H.E.N.C.H clan! For our money this is one of the best examples of the
dubstep rave sound, all masochistic bass and drum punishment done with a
lick of rooted style. Following the series of primer 12"s, 'Mixtape Vol.1'
is burtsing at the seams with V.I.P exclusives of H.E.N.C.H heavy hitters,
from Jakes dominating the selection with his own 'Rhythm', '3k Lane 1999'
and the massive 'Rock Tha Bells' to dynamic rave brutalism from Lost's
'Ironhide' and 'Slaughtered', Chasing Shadows 'Dream On', Komanazmuk 'You
Fo', and Mensah's 808 killer 'Pulse 80s'. The fact that most of the tracks
come from one producer, Jakes, lends a coherance and focussed sound that
blows most other mixes of this type out of the water and fully justifies
its appearance on CD, as opposed to one of a hundred bazillion free mixes
online. Slaughter!
