██▌▄▀█ doing their bit for electronica's very own overworked ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ and underpaid cottage industry, awkward silence serve ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ up another super limited slab of emotive electronica. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ deep and broody if the order of the day for mystery ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ scottish crew marcia blaine, who combine whirring ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ slow-mo beats with droning industrial melodies and a ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ touch of snap, crackle and pop. d_rradio, on the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ other hand, head in a much more laidback and peaceful ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ direction, following the lead of fellow minimalists ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ like labradford and portal. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ found sound, dj magazine (uk) ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ release number sixteen in the awkward silence split ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ series. the marcia blaine school for girls take side ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ a with 'kamara debagging'. secretive and glitchy ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ cloud dust begins the girls track, the beat emerges ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ from the darkened forest and it ploughs through the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ thick undergrowth as the tribal hip hop feel really ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ begins to show itself. the overpowering presence ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ makes itself felt, as you creep towards the drumbeat ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ which is acting like a tractor beam pulling unaware ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ passers by into its grips. the turns of a metal ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ wheel, let off minimal squeals which spiral through ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ the trees above cutting leaves into shreds which then ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ float to the ground, rubbing and scratching on ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ branches creating organic sounds. the finale to the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ track is a pure hissubblowout attack which has to be ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ heard at top whack to do its justice. killer track by ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ the mbsfg. v recommended. d_rradio is next with æsome ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ other timeÆ. the orchestral electronic vibe is joined ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ by squelches and buckets of atmosphere as fields of ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ grass vertically rotate ninety degrees creating ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ circular winds that emit middle eastern style vocal ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ samples. plips and zaps of beats make themselves ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ known but keep it in check, not overpowering the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ beautiful skyborn melody that rains emotion down from ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ way up high. a deep, amazing and wonderful pocket of ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ audio magic. well pld d_rradio. itÆs all good, well ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ thats one way to describe it, another would be ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ classic. if you want your head to be plucked off and ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ dropped into the atmospherically rich, alternative ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ reality that this record inhabits just get online or ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ head to your local shop and buy it, or you will never ░██▌▄▀
