PLOT:
The destruction of the legendary Shaolin temple brings to the
forefront Abbot White, head of the Wu Dang Taoist temple, sworn
enemies of the Shaolin monks. Allied to the deadly ninja sect of
Japan, White will settle for nothing less than total decimation
of Shaolin. One righteous ninja is all that stands between him
and his evil plans.

Popped in Ninja.Hunter.1983.DVDRip.XViD-GREiD (released 21/05/2004)
the other night to rewatch an old classic. What met me was not a
pretty sight. The rip, which is in 25fps, had horrible fieldblending
and was in general very fuzzy. I couldn't believe my eyes that we've
released crap like this...
So something had to be done. I decided to rerip this puppy since such
an awesome movie deserves the best of treatments. When I investigated
the source, I found something that gave me a mild shock...
I correctly reverted the ntsc source back to pal and noticed that
there was still a lot of fieldblending going on, just like in the old
rip. Being in an experimental mood, I tought that it would be fun to
try fieldmatching the output. That rendered a lot of duplicate frames
which only occasionally followed some kind of pattern (I was probably
too lazy to count enough frames). Decimating the most similar matches
in a N interval did the trick, and we could all live happily to face
another sunrise... Also balanced the colors.
Short version:
This sucka had to be converted from ntsc to pal and back to ntsc...
