it is not only amazing, what this japanese toshihiko mori offers
us hier, it is also outstandingly good: his tracks are made of
jazz/funk samples and scratches, carried by trip-hop harmonies and
a lazy groove, that never gets painfully boring. even more so,
they make you feel like spring is coming after a long cold winter.
the samples creek and scratch and smoothly work, almost clinicly.
there is a singer on almost every track, holding it together, the
grooving samples coming in and out, and in again. demanding music,
yet not over-demanding, with slight touches of easy-listening and
drum'n'bass. a convincing record rooted in western pop-culture by
a promising artist.
