The second release from Jamez's revered Dreamchasing album, 'Energy
Of Life' is easily one of the stand-out tracks. A driving house
epic with a unique male vocal makes this one of the most
distinctive tracks you'll hear all summer.
Jamez was famously part of a Dutch triumvirate the other 2 being
DJ Zki and Dobre that helped transform European house music in
the early 90's. With a reputation that precedes him, Jamez has
produced more records than most of us have had hot dinners. Having
produced under a variety of monikers such as Trancesetters, the
splendidly named Tata Box Inhibitors, P.I.M.P, Loophole, Amfibian
and Mindfunk his wealth of experience is glaringly obvious in
everything he produces.. His involvement and close relationship
with Touche Records earned him his reputation for eclectic
productions. Jamez is a culmination of all these previous guises.
With this second single Jamez has produced an infectious and
memorable track that grows on you with each listen. The original
boasts the ethereal vocal delivery of the splendidly-named Sir Jon
of Lemonsoul and Future Groove deliver a superb duo of remixes.
Samuel L Sessions delivers a deranged techno version with an
underlying nightmare quality that could twist many heads on the
dancefloor. Having completely fucked with the vocals this version
is haunting and disturbing but will have the darkest dancefloors
intoxicated by its peak time weirdness.
Humate deliver a dreamier driving dancefloor epic blending Sir
Jon's vocal into a more blissed out version that races along and
delivers a sublime tranced out euphoric breakdown. This will be
blasting out across dancefloors everywhere this summer. Already
having received plays on Radio 1 from Seb Fontaine and Fergie and
with props from the likes of Timo Maas this looks ready to explode.
Keen supporters of the Jamez sound include Steve Lawler, John
Digweed, Dave Seaman, Circulation, Trevor Rockliffe and 16b and
this is sure to be making it's way into their boxes too very soon.
This looks set to further confirm Jamez's position as one of the
most accomplished producers of the moment. The second 12" also
features a dazzling trancesetters remix of the brilliant single
'Tetspilot' also from the 'Dreamchasing' album. Be sure to bag your
copy for the summer!
