Warping and shimmering soundwaves are at The
Beginning of all Things; glowing tonecurrents bubble
and glint, followed by the tripnotically
blooping/beating title track. Marked by cymbal-like
spatters, the glowing rivulets streaming from my
favorite, Echoes from Stone - Part 1, waft in
shapeshifting loveliness etched by organic textures.
So sweet!
Unpredictably twitching tones hover and twirl above
13-minute Ancient Island, underscored by a
tribal/tech hybrid of bass pulsations and rhythms.
Deep mechanical rumblings speak in A Language
for Shadows (14:42); darkened corridors throb with
unearthly powers and wispy entities which plumb
the depths. Celestial organ notes twinkle over the
final moments of this prolonged immersion.
Fluttery percussive sheens and thumps pepper the
writhing energy-drone of Echoes from Stone - Part
2 (3:34), emitting a few allusions to the first part.
Reverse Alchemy yields one last excursion into
fantastically swirling cloudspace, accented by
various rhythmic presences.
Anthony Paul Kerby is the man at the center of The
Circular Ruins; his nine synthesized wonderworlds
are straight from the Realm of Possibility, an apt title
for such impossibly malleable sonic lifeforms.
