Italojohnson greets the dancefloor with his first vinyl release embodying three
functional tracks appropriate for any party mood. The A-side systematic drumming
maliciously rumbles through the prime time floor as the mellow waves begin to
take form and surge into a hysterical tsunami of beats. An emotional sunrise
paves the tracks final. A similar functional sound continues on B1 and soon
after, exposes itself as a percussive Chicago house track as the 707, 727 and
abyssal bassline protest against loungy house. The dubbier interpretation of the
ItaloJohnson concept can be found in the final track on B2. The 808
thunderstorms and melancholic pads have lived through more than one summer, yet
have only triumphed through charm and optimism.
ItaloJohnson combines different influences and aesthetics through a very
uncomplicated musical formula. ItaloJohnson is in no way trying to reinvent the
wheel, rather trying to create reduced and functional sketches which can carry
emotions through a dj & dancefloor oriented sound. ItaloJohnson believes in the
principle of simplicity and tangibility. Vinyl is the medium, of which this
principle and passion will be shared and passed on... ItaloJohnson stands for
love & happiness.
