Release Notes:
--------
The newest album from Anders Osborne is a collection of blues rock entitled
American Patchwork, on which Osborne has bared his soul with themes of healing
and redemption, spirituality and acceptance. Osborne says, "This is the healing,
the patching back together, of a man scattered to the wind, broken and in
pieces. The rebuilding of my home, a city under water and in ruins, friends
lost, my community in disarray, all carefully patched and made whole again by
the power of my America and its endless source of inspiration to me. This is my
American patchwork." And Osborne lays it all out there musically on the American
Patchwork album.

Osborne is a refreshingly fantastic blues singer in an era marred by guitar
heroes whose voices leave much to be desired but who sing anyway. Alligator
signed him in part because of his ôimpossibly great voice and... songs to matchö
(Paste Magazine). And though he is a capo wielding slide guitarist, he is not
the cheap sort of cheater that wields the capo and slide guitar tunings as a
crutch; he uses them to create unique tones and to catch the blue notes.
Osborne's guitar playing displays soul as much as his vocals do.

Bruce Iglauer, the president of Alligator Records, says that Anders is a perfect
fit for his label: "We at Alligator are very excited to have a visionary artist
like Anders Osborne join our roster. Having traveled over much of the world and
honed his music in New Orleans, Anders combines a deep feeling for many genres
of American roots music with straight-from-the-heart, deeply soulful
songwriting. His voice has the unvarnished emotional honesty that we love. As a
guitarist, he's simply thrilling. He's one of America's finest roots music
artists, and we're honored to have him on Alligator."

In true Louisiana style, the New Orleans musician hauls around a Sousaphone
picker who adds a unique twist to his gutsy, rock flavored blues, an impressive
reach for an instrument normally relegated to Dixieland and ragtime tunes. There
is plenty to take-in at Anders Osborne's live performances that can't be tracked
onto an album. His stage bravado and eccentric look weave a mysterious,
appealing spectacle.
