Release Notes:
Fresh from supporting Passion Pit on tour, Little Death release their
single æJust Say MaybeÆ, the first new material since their
self-released mini-album in 2008. Full to the brim with heavy basslines
and thunderous guitars, it is an aggressively charged track,
accompanied by snappy rhythms and powerful guitars pushing the song
along. The melodic and grumbling bassline is at the forefront of the
verses, creating a nice alteration from the busy and raucous chorus.
The track manages to combine infectious melodies with energised
instrumentation, the end product being far from perfect, but thereÆs a
rough charm to it.
The single is accompanied by two other songs, the rough and wonderfully
messy æViolent SeaÆ and the rather melancholic, but still rousing
æWorld WonÆt WaitÆ. It is undeniable that Little Death are enthusiastic
and their songs are little pockets of pure energy; æJust Say MaybeÆ is
a perfect length at nearly three minutes, the guitars opening up
towards the end allowing the song to evolve into a mixing bowl of
sounds, stirred by the capable hands of Little Death.
