Notes:
Ego sets the standard as one of the most respected dance labels in the
world. Arriving in 2004 with a focus on fresh and cutting edge
no-matter-what-genre music, they are now into their 6th successful year
having released artists such as Analog People In A Digital World, Dino,
Paolo Mojo, Paul Harris and Magik Johnson to name but a few...
Continually expanding, Ego is now delighted to introduce to you Killa
Tunes! Its new offshoot to cater for the more underground electronic
sound that would not necessarily fit the typical Ego or Hysterical
profile...
Killa Tunes is the black sheep of the Ego family, a special sub-label
with a much deeper and techier flavour and a little edgy vibe for the
best clubs, and an outlet for the development of new up and coming
artists.
To follow on from his latest Beatport Top 100 topping Remix of APDW vs
Tim Deluxe Just Wont Do on Hysterical, Killa Tunes is proud to welcome
Paul Jackson to its roster, and announce its first release in the form of
Drum & Bass EP.
With a DJ & Production career spanning 15 years under his belt Paul
Jackson is still pushing things forward. Making a name for himself on
Darren Emersons Underwater Records with the classic The Push Paul has
continued to impress year after year. As well as releasing material on
Dave Seamans Audio Therapy label, Defected/Fluential and Gung-Ho!
Recordings, in the last few years he has also found the time to remix
Justin Timberlake, Pink, Jamiroquai, GusGus & The Japanese Popstars
amongst others, and he continue to tour the planet, holding down
residencies in London, Paris and Dubai and clocking up his 100th country
visited along the way.
The title track Drum & Bass headlines this clubbed up EP, and Paul goes
back underground for your playing pleasure with a driving cut full of
heavy pumping bass lines and bongo action alongside vocal chants for
extra afro fun!
Vanguard is next up, and this is another seriously funky groove with an
old school drum programming and stabs which build with deep synths and
some late 80s rave chords
This two track EP is essential!!
