Calling Just Surrender a pop-punk band seems a bit unfair. While the bandÆs
upcoming release, Phoenix, does display a lot of pop sensibility and catchy
tunes, it seems, well, a bit more complex than the connotations that
ôpop-punkö tends to imply. The New Yorkers donÆt just produce two and half
minute, three-chord ear candy, but combine catchy leads and engaging rhythms
with well-written vocal melodies and relateable lyrics into memorable songs.
Just Surrender managed to move more than 40,000 copies of their first two
independent releases, and are set to drop their Razor & Tie debut, Phoenix,
on August 17.
