Release Notes: ░██▓
██▒
Philadelphia based producer Haj of Dumhi continues his ██░
string of impressive indie releases with "The Jungle". Using ██
Ethiopian jazz samples as the foundation, Haj has created a ██
bed of layered drums and horn driven beats as the basis for ██
the project. Also utilizing voice snippets from a wide array ██
of sound sources, he develops metaphors between survival in ██
the actual jungle with the challenges that face many inner ██
city youths today. The Jungle is anchored by legendary ██
Philadelphia emcee Reef the Lost Cauze, who appears on four ██
of the albums eleven tracks. Reef and Haj first worked ██
together on the 2008 Dumhi release "Yoga at Home" and have ██
developed an undeniable chemistry over the course of several ██
collaborations since. The album also features up and coming ██
indie emcees such as Philadelphia's Random, Ethel Cee, and ██
Burke the Jurke as well as NY emcees Che Grand and Elucid ██
among others. ██
