Minneapolis trio, self-evident, spent the two years since their last release,
2007 s SELF-EVIDENT, touring the country. Recorded in April with longtime
engineer, Carl Amburn, the result is Endings : self-evident s most defined work.
The band s deft instrumentation has always been their defining characteristic,
but here the melodies and song structures perfectly match their tight, angular
music. Even at their loudest, singer/guitarist Conrad Mach and bassist Tom Berg
manage a unique tonal harmony, equaling the beauty of their quieter passages.
Drummer Ben Johnston, who first joined the band on SELF-EVIDENT , continues to
provide an economy of skilled drumming that takes the music in new directions.
Call it math rock, post-hardcore, or just plain rock. Endings is the sound of a
band that continues to evolve and defy categorization.
