│ Fans of feel-good boom-bap and intricate indie rap take note: │
│ Brooklyn-based Babbletron is opening their bag of treats. The │
│ trio's sophomore heater warms up with emcees Jaymanila and │
│ Calm-Pete flexing philosophy-meets-braggadocio wordplay over DJ │
│ Pre's dark, winding compositions. │

│ By the time RJD2's Portishead-esque 'Clock Song' strikes, you │
│ might start to pigeonhole the sound - but the album suddenly │
│ switches gears, revealing the group's range. 'Birds' is a fly │
│ love song. The singsong melody meshes with the tongue-in-cheek │
│ lyrics beautifully: "Melmac to Meepos, her evil has no equal. │
│ She swoops in the night when you're sleeping very peaceful." │
│ (Word to Beatles' Sexy Sadie.) │

│ In the same vein, the Earth Girls are Easy-influenced 'Space │
│ Tech Banana Clip' is upbeat, witty and produced by everyone's │
│ favorite vaude-villain: MF Doom. While the remainder of the │
│ album demonstrates a return to the classic, mid-1990s New York │
│ underground vibe, 'A.C.W.A.L.L.' (Awkward Conversations with a │
│ Lovely Lady) sneaks in to punctuate the performance humorously. │
│ If Stretch & Bobbito were still on the airwaves, Babbletron │
│ would be in heavy rotation. │
