█▀░░ PsyCZ group was formed in spring 2001 by its first three members ... ░░▀█
█▀░ But as every group grows and gets new members, new people joined PsyCZ ░▀█
█▀░ to help us in our mission. Our main common loved genere was psychedelic ░▀█
█▀░ ... of course, but everone of us likes several more genres. This caused, ░▀█
█▀░ that several members began to demand releasing other music styles such ░▀█
█▀░ as ambient, drum&bass and few more ... So we realized, that our original ░▀█
█▀░ name PsyCZ is a little uncomfortable, because it highlights our psy - ░▀█
█▀░ sight. After few days of debates we decided to found new sub-group ... ░▀█
█▀░ and here we are ... PsyCZ_NP will bring you plenty of non psychedelic ░▀█
█▀░ music ... especially ambient, but some other genres are planned too. ░▀█
█▀░ Why did we decide for non-psy? Changing of the group name isn't possible ░▀█
█▀░ so possibilities we had was only adding a suffix to current group name ░▀█
█▀░░ ... so have chosen non-psy, because it's clearest and most fluent ... ░░▀█

█▀║ Kaigal-ool Khovalyg ║▀█
█▀║ An extremely talented, self-taught overtone singer, Khovalyg worked as ║▀█
█▀║ a shepherd until the age of 21, when he was invited to join the Tuvan ║▀█
█▀║ State Ensemble. He settled in Kyzyl and started teaching throat ║▀█
█▀║ singing and igil. A co-founder of Huun-Huur-Tu, he left the State ║▀█
█▀║ Ensemble in 1993 to devote his attention to the newly formed quartet. ║▀█
█▀║ He has performed and recorded with the Tuva Ensemble, Vershki da ║▀█
█▀║ Koreshki, the World Groove Band and the Volkov Trio. Covering a range ║▀█
█▀║ from tenor to bass, Khovalyg is particularly known for his unique ║▀█
█▀║ rendition of the kh÷÷mei and kargyraa singing styles. ║▀█
█▀║ ║▀█
█▀║ Sayan Bapa ║▀█
█▀║ child of a Tuvan father and Russian mother, grew up in the industrial ║▀█
█▀║ town Ak-Dovurak. He received his musical training in Kislovodsk, ║▀█
█▀║ Northern Caucasus, where he played fretless bass in a Russian ║▀█
█▀║ jazz-rock band for several years. In the early 1990s he returned to ║▀█
█▀║ Tuva to study his roots, and became a member of a folk-rock band, ║▀█
█▀║ performing traditional Tuvan music on electric instruments. A ║▀█
█▀║ co-founder of Huun-Huur-Tu, Bapa is a versatile string ║▀█
█▀║ instrumentalist, and performs on the doshpuluur, igil and acoustic ║▀█
█▀║ guitar. As a vocalist he is currently specializing in the kargyraa ║▀█
█▀║ style.s ║▀█

█▀║ Anatoli Kuular ║▀█
█▀║ Born in rural Chadan, Kuular was a shepherd before becoming a ║▀█
█▀║ professional musician. Having perfected his virtuoso throat-singing ║▀█
█▀║ abilities as a former Soviet-style concert performer of Tuvan folk ║▀█
█▀║ music, he excels in the borbangnadyr style. He participated in two ║▀█
█▀║ Smithsonian Folkways recordings on Tuvan music and nature sound ║▀█
█▀║ imitations ('90 and '99). As a member of the Tuva Ensemble he traveled ║▀█
█▀║ to the US in 1993, having joined Huun-Huur-Tu to replace Albert ║▀█
█▀║ Kuvezin. An accomplished tenor vocalist, Kuular also performed with ║▀█
█▀║ the Khomus Ensemble, and his instrumental expertise focuses on the ║▀█
█▀║ byzaanchi and mouth harp. ║▀█

█▀║ Alexei Saryglar ║▀█
█▀║ the youngest member of Huun-Huur-Tu, joined the ensemble in 1995 to ║▀█
█▀║ replace Alexander Bapa. He completed his musical training in Ulan Ude ║▀█
█▀║ as a percussionist for classical and popular music, and became a ║▀█
█▀║ member of the large Russian state ensemble 'Siberian Souvenir'. A ║▀█
█▀║ multi-talented performer, Saryglar makes his mark as a sygyt singer, ║▀█
█▀║ and his expertise with traditional Tuvan percussion and string ║▀█
█▀║ instruments naturally extends into the art of piano playing. Like the ║▀█
█▀║ other members of the ensemble, he resides in Kyzyl when not on tour. ║▀█

█▀║ Recorded at Folk Marathon Festival In Petrozavodsk (Karefia), it's a ║▀█
█▀║ sequel to Live 1, and they were recorded the same day. ║▀█
█▀║ The biggest selling point of these 2 live discs is probably that if ║▀█
█▀║ you are already a Huun Huur Tu fan, Live 1 and 2 are great companion ║▀█
█▀║ discs to their studio albums that you already own. On the other hand, ║▀█
█▀║ if you are totally new to this group (and/or Tuvan throat-singing in ║▀█
█▀║ general), these 2 live discs are a great sampler of HHT's repertoire, ║▀█
█▀║ and you could use these discs to cross-reference your favorite songs ║▀█
█▀║ here with their studio albums and decide which of those you'd like to ║▀█
█▀║ buy next. ║▀█
█▀║ While various Tibetan styles of throat-singing are more well-known to ║▀█
█▀║ the masses, Tuvan throat-singing is just as much of a marvel and a joy ║▀█
█▀║ to experience, and it sounds completely different. ║▀█
█▀║ Track #1 on this disc has another stunning solo vocal. With track #5, ║▀█
█▀║ Huun Huur Tu again display that they are some of the best jews-harp ║▀█
█▀║ players in the entire world. The first half (mainly just jews-harp) of ║▀█
█▀║ this song is incredible, and once it morphs into the ║▀█
█▀║ vocal-and-instruments song it remains excellent. #8 is sort of an ║▀█
█▀║ atmospheric track, but it's all acoustic and never falls into any of ║▀█
█▀║ the New Agey cliches that so frequently happen during things where the ║▀█
█▀║ word "atmospheric" is used as a description. ║▀█
█▀║ All In all though, it's the emotional power that gets you about this ║▀█
█▀║ music. Maybe for some people, HHT is just about the novelty of hearing ║▀█
█▀║ the overtone singing, but their music goes way beyond that technical ║▀█
█▀║ aspect. These guys have a gift for melody that can bring you to tears ║▀█
█▀║ and take you outside of yourself. That's what their music is all ║▀█
█▀║ about. ║▀█
