Bio:
INK has composed the beauty of a perfect line, that upon first listen,
stirs settled feelings and gives an immediate history to the sounds
recorded. Being a very process oriented group, INK hibernated one year
in the studio before allowing one listen to their musical endeavor.
Experimenting with new recording techniques, vintage equipment, and with
no expectations of the outcome, INK have created a sound of soothing
uneasiness.
INK began with Peter Quinn, Lyle Kissack, and Craig Bowen. These three
met after realizing that they each individually shared the same ideas
and notions of music and recording. By collaborating, Peter, Craig, and
Lyle felt that they would be able to realize their ideas faster and
stronger, the end result being a growing point for more musical
experimentation.
Unlike a collective or a school, INK have no written manifesto to be
scrutinized or adhered to - the rules are ingrained, as simple as
breathing. The stream of consciousness lyrics spouted over sparse guitar
and bass interplay all being held together by intricate drum patterns
lend to the urgency of this music. It is felt in the first instant...a
thinking anger or a calm action. Time is an afterthought because of the
remembrance and direct action of this music.
