After 16 singles and 2 albums Glasgow Underground released its first
compilation 'Volume One' in May of 1998. To this point the label had
featured the production talents of DJ Q, 16B, Andrew Weatherall,
Swag, Romanthony, Muzique Tropique, The Idjut Boys and many others.
'Volume One' takes the listener on a ride through some of the finest
deep house productions of the time. Stand out tracks include:
Romanthony's sultry 'Do You Think You Can Love Me' (later to feature
on Daft Punk's massive-selling 'Respect' compilation and one of the
most intriguing vocal delights of '98); Sixteen Soul's hip-swinging
'Late Night Jam' (one of Tracy Thorn's tunes of '98) and DJ Q's
filter classic 'The Original Porn King'.
PS. Dedicated to all those deephouse freaks who suffered through our
recent nonhouse releases ,)
