▀ ▐ scene in Germany was beginning to bore to us. We wanted ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ to free ourselves from all constraints and pursue our ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ own musical vision.ö ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Marcus Finger and Jⁿrgen Kadel met for the first time ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ in 1995. Music was immediately a topic of passionate ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ discussion û both were already working as successful ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ producers. Marcus was creating ambient sounds, and ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Jⁿrgen had released over twenty driving house singles. ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ They soon resolved to launch a new musical project, and ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Hacienda was born. The first album Sunday Afternoon ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ (1996) appeared on Sven VΣthÆs Harthouse label, but the ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ sound was more British than German û so it was no ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ surprise that the first LP garnered the most attention ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ in the UK. The British press celebrated the project as ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ GermanyÆs answer to Fila Brazillia, Lionrock, or ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Nightmares on Wax. Eight years later, Hacienda is ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ releasing a fourth album. Two previous albums û ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Narrowed Eyes (1998) and Third Door Left (2000) û were ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ released on the Frankfurt-based label Infracom. The ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ second and third albums represent significant ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ evolutionary steps for the duo, boldly combining ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ elements from both electronic and acoustic sounds. The ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ computer was used as an instrument on equal footing ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ with electric piano, Hammond organ, Rhodes piano, bass ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ guitar, and drums. ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ ôThe driving force behind our work has always been the ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ integration of both acoustic and electronic elements to ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ form a homogeneous unit. This approach has formed the ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ basis of the Hacienda sound from the outset. Throughout ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ the years our interest in songwriting has come to the ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ forefront. Bare tracks have become less appealing to us ▌ ▀
