█ █ "The sound of Hate Orgasm on this, their first demo, is █ █
█ █ situated happily between that of "The Oath of Black Blood", █ █
█ █ "Dethrone The Son of God", and their countrymen Sarc≤fago's █ █
█ █ "INRI". Sounds like a wonderful combination where nothing █ █
█ █ could go wrong, right? Well, right! █ █
█ █ █ █
█ █ As short as this demo is, three songs clocking in at █ █
█ █ fifteen minutes, it is just littered with tons of cool █ █
█ █ parts. They waste no time getting to those parts, either, █ █
█ █ starting right out the door on the first song with a bouncy █ █
█ █ bass and a "Sarc≤fago at their most mid-paced-ly soul █ █
█ █ crushing"-esque riff, followed by some heinously snarled █ █
█ █ out lyrics with a distinct echo-y after-effect and a █ █
█ █ blasting drum piece which perfectly conjures to mind an █ █
█ █ image of the drummer going nuts on the skins. Short but █ █
█ █ sweet! From here on the music follows the classic metal █ █
█ █ compositional style of riffs flowing into more riffs on a █ █
█ █ course leading straight to hell! █ █
█ █ █ █
█ █ Speaking of the riffs; they are of the breed whose old █ █
█ █ school thrashing-black-death metal lineage is extremely █ █
█ █ apparent but are original in themselves. Now, they aren't █ █
█ █ quite up to par with the classic monster-riffs of the old █ █
█ █ guard, but they may stand toe to steel boot encased toe █ █
█ █ with anyone playing then or now without having any reason █ █
█ █ to lower their gaze or look demure. The overall sound is of █ █
█ █ the same vein; raw and ugly with a fair bit of the national █ █
█ █ bassiness, though somewhat unpolished. It could stand for █ █
█ █ some improvement, particularly in putting more power behind █ █
█ █ the guitar which has a good tone but is frequently pushed █ █
█ █ aside when the vocals and drums come into play. All in all, █ █
█ █ despite my complaints, there is very little more that could █ █
█ █ be asked of the band, save a longer playtime, which is the █ █
█ █ only thing preventing me from rating this higher. █ █
█ █ █ █
█ █ Hate Orgasm is pretty basic, so I don't have much more to █ █
█ █ say other than that this demo is energetic and deliciously █ █
█ █ hateful. If you like any of the other bands and albums I've █ █
█ █ mentioned in this review you'd be doing yourself a favor to █ █
█ █ look into this. It gets my two thumbs inflexibly up and one █ █
█ █ head furiously banging. Pleasingly, after two years of █ █
█ █ seemingly no activity and zero internet presence, a second █ █
█ █ release from this band has emerged, and if it in any way █ █
█ █ helps to convince you of what a strong showing they give in █ █
█ █ their antecedent offering I am off now to seek it out █ █
█ █ directly!" █ █
