five years on and gilles petersonÆs weekly æworldwideÆ radio 1
show continues to define the musical topography of broadcasting.
responsible for creating a coherent and vibrant thread between
artists considered as obscure by some, forgotten by others and
simply unknown by more, gilles mixes up sounds from the roots of
africa to the bass culture of jamaica via the urban soul of
detroit to the intricate stylings of the european new jazz
generation. last year his show won the prestigious muzik magazine
award for best radio show, beating off stiff competition. this
follows the sony radio award a few years earlier. two worldwide
compilations have been released so far in response to the demand
from listeners to the show. a perfect pocket sized replica of the
music that accompanies you into the early hours of thursday
     mornings.

worldwide programme 3 is released through talkin' loud and
continues the high calibre set by the two previous releases,
playing host to an equally wide variety of styles, genres and
forms from across the globe - worldwide by name, worldwide by
     nature.
