Catalog number is taken from the Deluxe 2CD version which has the same
tracklist as this release. Internal because two tracks had different
encoders.
The first edition of this series was released in 2000 on WEA Records.
I guess you are all surprised we are doing a classical album.
What got our main attention was that Ferry Corsten is back again with a
remix of William Orbit. After his two massive remixes of
Barber's Adagio For Strings and Ravel's Pavane Pour Une Infante DΘfunte
this is his third work of the 53 year old from the UK.
Tracks 1-12 is "CD 1" and contains the original remixes by William Orbit.
Tracks 13-26 is "CD 2" and contains a lot of the same tracks which are
again remixed by big names as Ferry Corsten, John Diguid and Timo Maas.
"This album is a follow-up to "Pieces in a Modern Style". Some people
climb mountains, some people play Sudoku, but I get immense pleasure
from doing these re-mixes... what drew me to classical music is the way
it's put together. I love the challenge it poses and I love trying to unpack
it and find out how it works.... sometimes taking diabolical liberties and
sometimes being totally faithful to the original - " .
