debut album, "The Vegas Showkid".
Ruff Shan's "The Vegas Showkid" album consists of 17 tracks
of blazing Hip-Hop and R & B that chronicles the life and
times of Ruff Shan and The NAF Clique. "Gritty, Passionate,
Raw, Intelligent, Original and Trend-Setting" are just some
of the terms being used to describe this album. Over the
last 10 years, Ruff Shan has been writing, battling and
honing his lyrical skills to razor sharp perfection, and "The
Vegas Showkid" is the result...
Featured on this musical masterpiece with Ruff Shan is The
NAF Clique.
The NAF Clique stands for "Now and Forever" and is comprised
of: Doc Grip (MC), who has already released 2 solo albums,
and a third on the way. J. BIGZ (MC), the son of a reggae
musician and a highly skilled lyricist and songwriter. Lil
Josh (R&B crooner/songwriter/dancer), who is already getting
national attention from his debut single, "Beneath It". J-
Roc (MC), "gritty and from the heart" would be his best
description, look for his demo soon. Last but not least, the
Producer/MC/Musician, Michael Brooks, the man that
discovered and signed Ruff Shan and The NAF Clique, and
produced "The Vegas Showkid". Michael Brooks has released 2
albums with his own band and has written, produced and
published over 50 songs. Ruff Shan and The NAF Clique have
been writing and performing together for over 6 years and
have most recently opened for Bizzy Bone, Double R, Mopreme
Shakur and Coo Coo Cal at the Alliant Energy Center in
Madison. Other opening spots include Run DMC and Chosen Few,
at the Kohl Center in Madison (2001) and Naughty by Nature,
at the Orpheum Theatre in Madison (2001).
Ruff Shan and the NAF Clique have the ability to perform
with a live band (guitar, bass, drums) or with a DJ and have
performed throughout the Midwest. With over 2 ╜ hours of
material Ruff Shan is able to headline or open in any size
venue.
