Notes:
Amsterdams Bla Bla Records proudly presents its very first album. Cirkel
by Daniel Sanchez and Eelco Augustijn is the follow-up for last years
critically acclaimed Untitled Concept, which they released as Gimikk
(Remote Area). This time Daniel and Eelco operate under their own name,
surprising friend and foe with a collection of dubbed out tracks to suit
living rooms and obscured dancefloors alike.

Having no discernable beginning or end, a circle is the ultimate symbol
of timelessness. Thats exactly what Daniel Sanchez and Eelco Augustijn
had in store for their second project Cirkel: a collection of music that
would transcend the passage of time. Whereas Gimikks Untitled Concept was
mostly aimed at dancefloor functionality, this album uncovers a more
intimate and matured style of electronic music.

Offering eleven dubtechno tracks in the vein of Maurizio and Moritz von
Oswald, but with a contemporary and personal twist, this record is more
of a mindblower than a bodyshaker. Its one of those rare techno albums
that not only lends itself as a great dj-tool, but is worth listening to
as a whole. Cirkel is like musical quicksand; dragging you in slowly, but
steadily. Before long you find yourself lost in a mathematical maze,
filled with driving basslines and eiree soundscapes. The sonic smoke of
this psychedelic experience only clears up minutes after you get yourself
to actually hit the stop button.

Cirkel isnt just a great techno album. Its musical proof that Amsterdams
new school generation of technoproducers is pushing the envelope, sailing
into excitingly new and uncharted waters. Moreover, in a scene overflowed
with temporary thrills, Cirkel offers a longer lasting listening
experience that you shall come to cherish more and more with every single
play.
