██▌▄▀█ Rupert Parkes, aka Photek, Special Forces, Studio ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Pressure and Aquarius, first became hooked on music ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ through hip hop, jazz and the rave scene of the late ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ 80's where he first saw Jumpin' Jack Frost behind the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ decks. These experiences inspired him to start ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ producing his own music leading to his jazz tinged ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ debut 'Sensation' being picked up by Ray Keith for ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Black Market Records. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Parkes went on to release some of the most important ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ and influential records of the drum and bass movement ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ through labels such as Goldie's seminal Metalheadz ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ imprint, LTJ Bukem's Good Looking, Certificate 18 and ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ his own Photek Productions label. In his own words, ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ 'Rings Around Saturn' and 'Ni-Ten-Ichi-Rye' are the ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ most important records of his career so far. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ He also had a smash hit on the house scene with his ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ 'Mine To Give' collaboration with Robert Owens which ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ caused many of his old drum and bass contemporaries ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ to shun him and his 'Solaris' album. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ He has now moved to LA to and has been scoring ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ soundtracks for film and TV as well as setting up a ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ new label, 51st State Entertainment, with the massive ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ hip hop label, Loud. 51st State will see him working ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ with up and coming US rappers and taking a new hip ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ hop direction. The first single sees him working with ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ rappers Choc Ty and Chiara on the superb 'We Got ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ Heat' single, out 10th November. ░██▌▄▀
██▌▄▀█ ░██▌▄▀
