| Helmut Aniko(born March 27, 1947) had been one of the outstanding |
| performes on Estonian jazz over a period on 20 years when his |
| first LP "Recollection" (Melodia; 1990) was released. That |
| recording by his quartet features interpretations of folk music, |
| as well as one of Aniko's own compositions and an interpretation |
| of an evergreen jazz theme. This recording introduces another |
| aspect of H. Aniko - his big band music, which he has been playing |
| for 15 years. His first big success was in Tbilisi, Georgia, in |
| 1978, where he was one of the most popular performers. |
