Jay Haze's Bearly Legal EP was such a success, but with just two
tracks, our circle of producer and DJ friends were asking us why we
didn't release any mixes! Well, ask and you shall receive..."No Need
for Loops" was the original EP's B-side, but with positive feedback
and play from Ewan Pearson and Ellen Allien, we've decided this time
to let it have the glory of A-side status with a top-notch rework
from Ilario Alicante (CΘcille, Tenax) who combines a busy, pulsating
rhythm with the lulling undercurrent of melody for a hypnotic
effect."Take your Hat Off" gets the remix treatment in the hands of
several adept producers: first Shaun Reeves (Wolf + Lamb) and duo
Tale of Us (Barraca Music) team up for a sly, seductive version,
while Amam label boss Alessio Mereu offers a punchy, revved up take
to give the 12" some welcome contrast. And as a digital bonus, we
offer yet two more versions: the fluid, deep sound of Giuseppe
Cennamo (Monique Musique) and some dubbed out piano house from Naph
(PulseWith). Since the EP was already Bearly Legal, we decided to
stop with five remixes and not take any further risk!
