Release Notes:

Jullian Angel was first revealed to the French
indie scene by a small label, Another Record, with
the debut album Melancholic Ecstasy (2004). This
self-produced Lp showed an amazing kind of lo-fi
electro-pop, but didn't let you know much about the
folk-writing predominant side in JullianÆs work.
Actually, he rather performs solo, with a simple
guitar ; notably opened for various artists such as
Pedro The Lion, Mariee Sioux, having regular shows
through different big cities, mostly in France. He
also played live in a famous night broadcast on the
1st French public radio, France Inter.

Therefore, his second issued record Life was the
answer (2007) was mainly based on acoustic guitar
tracks, some with a richer production, though the
vocals and lyrics keep a leading role anyway.
Especially over several timeless ballads, somewhere
between Radiohead, Nick Drake, or Leonard Cohen, as
described by different music reviewers. One of
these songs, Some dead survive, was included on
Indie Moods compilation, sponsored by the renowned
magazine Les Inrockuptibles.

Two forthcoming albums are awaited in 2010. The
first LP is a home-recorded acoustic set, named For
a ghost (in a room session), to be released with
another French label (Les Disques Normal /
Believe). It features new intimist versions of some
previously issued works; and a few inedit pieces
from JullianÆs next studio opus, Kamikaze planning
holidays _expected in December, still in the same
bared songwriting mood.
