London producer and singer James Blake is easily one of the most
promising Rising acts of 2010. Just this year, the inventive
electronic prodigy released three EPs; The Bells Sketch, CMYK, and
Klavierwerke. And now he's prepping his self-titled debut LP for
a February 7 release through Atlas/A&M. The record is preceded
by his current single, a spacious cover of Feist's "Limit to Your
Love", but the rest of the album is made up of all original
material.
Along with the new album, Blake is planning to tour with a new
band of friends who will recreate his solitary sounds "100% live
with no laptops to fixate on." And he's got even more new music
waiting for the right time to come out. "I don't just like to
release old gems," he wrote. "The things I want to release are
things that excite me now, and there are a few tracks like that
at the moment."
